Stephen Maher

Stephen Maher is the Chair of The Gate, the multi-award-winning integrated creative agency. With over four decades of experience in the marketing and advertising industry, Stephen worked at many leading global agencies and networks including AMV/BBDO and TBWA/Simons Palmer before founding MBA in 1994. He grew MBA into one of London's leading digital / direct shops before its acquisition by MSQ and merger with MSQ's Stack to form MBAstack in 2021 and then subsequently merged MBAstack with The Gate in 2024. A regular in Campaign's AList , Stephen has held many distinguished industry roles over the years including Chair of The Marketing Society , Chair of the DMA , Chair of The IPA Effectiveness Board as well as IPA Council member and Fellow , and Advertising Association Council and MGGB member.
